Holland

WHERE TO EAT:

Poquito- cozy tapas restaurant, Spanish cuisine (grooms favorite) $$

SeventySix- sleek new American restaurant $$

Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant- new American, waterfront views of Lake Macatawa $$

Hopcat- elevated bar food with a wide beer selection $

WHERE TO DRINK:

New Holland Brewing- famous Michigan brewery

Obstacle No. 1- intimate craft cocktail lounge (reservations highly encouraged)

HopCat- a Michigan staple, 40+ taps on draft

Foxtail Coffee- local coffee shop


TO DO:

Ottawa Beach- easy to park and enjoy the day or go for a walk on the shores of lake Michigan. Can also view the red lighthouse from here.

Windmill Island Gardens- 250 year old windmill and gardens, in a town named Holland this is a must

Holland Farmers Market: walk 8th street and check out all the boutiques and shops and experience the charm of Holland. (Saturday from 9am-1pm)

SAUGATUCK

WHERE TO EAT:

Bowdies Chophouse- cozy steak house with outdoor seating (grooms favorite/reservations strongly encouraged) $$$

Lady Bird- new American with local flair $$

The Southerner- southern style dishes on the Kalamazoo River $

The Butler- American, outdoor seating on Kalamazoo River $

New Holland Distilling- tasting room- new holland spirits, locally distilled

The Mitten Brewing Company- local brewery with creative brews

Coral Gables- historic resort with outdoor decks on the water and live music

Wallys- local dive bar for late night drinks

The Dunes Resort- Midwest’s largest LGBTQ+ resort, pool bar and dancing, as well as cabaret with drag shows and local performers

Uncommon Coffee Roasters- local coffee roaster and café


TO DO:

Oval Beach- take a drive to oval beach and spend the day or catch the sunset on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan

Saugatuck Dunes State Park- beautiful hike through the woods that ends on a remote beach on lake Michigan.

Saugatuck Chain Ferry- take the historic chain ferry across the Kalamazoo River to neighboring Douglas

Retro Boat Rentals- rent a retro boat to cruise along the Kalamazoo River

Star of Saugatuck- take a boat ride out to Lake Michigan on a historic paddlewheel boat (day and sunset trips)

Saugatuck Center for the Arts- vibrant local theater (Waitress will be on stage our wedding weekend)
